Britney Spears (aka Bad Media Karma)
After a poorly-reviewed MTV VMA performance, Britney Spears has packed her bags and left Las Vegas for the friendly confines of her California home.
With this said, all eyes have now turned towards the release of her new album. According to the latest reports, the troubled pop tart still plans on releasing Gimme More as the first single from the record, which is expected to hit shelves this November.
Entertainment Weekly acquired the lyrics to “Piece Of Me,” in what many feel will be the second single. One line from the song reads: “’’I’m Mrs. Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous/ I’m Mrs. ‘Oh my God, that Britney’s shameless’/ I’m Mrs. ‘Extra, extra, this just in’ / I’m Mrs. ‘She’s too fat, now she’s too thin.” In the “Piece of Me” track, Britney also is said to refer to herself as “Bad Media Karma” and says: “Another day, another drama/ I can’t see the harm in working hard and being a mama.”
Despite the seemigly childish lyrics, those who’ve heard the new disc seem impressed, as an EW insider described: “Other new songs include the electro, vocoder-assisted ‘Radar’, ‘Break The Ice’, which sounds like Nelly Furtado’s ‘Say It Right’, and ‘Heaven On Earth’, which sounds like Gwen Stefani’s ‘Sweet Escape’”
With these lofty associations, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of magic was pulled off with the help of a little studio tweaking.
