As for the runners up, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline came in a close second, as did Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Could America be more celebrity-obsessed than ever?
Outside the realm of celebrity couples, Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey proved to be the most popular single characters, along with Late Night host Jay Leno.
