2008 Academy Award Nominations Announced

While the writers' strike has put Hollywood's biggest night in jeopardy, nominations for the 80th annual Academy Awards were announced as scheduled earlier this morning.

Officially, the Academy claims to be moving ahead with the red carpet and awards ceremony as usual, with spokeswoman Leslie Unger telling press: "We are planning to have our show at the Kodak Theatre with an audience of 3,300 people and a television audience significantly larger than that."

The complete list of Academy Award nominees up for a statue on February 24th include:
